9-27-22 THOUGHTS
Technical issues with our internet provider prevented yesterday’s post. I apologize.
I am grateful to God for the assurances of His help that are given throughout His word. David is one of my favorite sources. He who helps us has made heaven and earth! He doesn’t sleep! He protects us and keeps our souls. His forever guarding “of our going out and our coming in” is most comforting. Going to the house of the Lord ought to be comforting! It ought to be desirable, when we consider God’s presence shared among us. I take note of the “compact together” phrase [122:3]. The giving of thanks, seems to be here in the house of the Lord. Verse 6-9 of chapter 122 are powerful. I love, “For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, May peace be within you." May we prosper as we love Him!
Ps 121:1-8 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. 6 The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. 8 The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever.
Ps 122:1-9 I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD." 2 Our feet are standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem, 3 Jerusalem, that is built As a city that is compact together; 4 To which the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD — An ordinance for Israel — To give thanks to the name of the LORD. 5 For there thrones were set for judgment, The thrones of the house of David. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. 7 "May peace be within your walls, And prosperity within your palaces." 8 For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, "May peace be within you." 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.
My Prayer:
Lord, give us your peace in your House at Rescue. Help us to understand and desire the precious nature of brothers and sisters in the Lord. For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, may I declare that I will seek its good. In the name of our Savior, Jesus the Christ, Amen.
Pray for sister Heather
